Local AL leader shot 2 Juba League activists dead at Madaripur

Two activists of Juba League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, were shot dead while five injured in an attack by a local AL leader over establishing supremacy at Madaripur.
The shootout took place early this morning at Kutubpur of Shibchar in Madaripur.
The victims were identified as Arshed Madbar, 35 and Shahjahan Darani, 45, both residents of Kutubpur.
The identities of the injured were not available immediately.
The Officer-in-charge of Shibchar police station, Abdus Sattar, said that local AL leader Ibrahim Shikdar had long developed feuds with Atiq Madbar over establishing supremacy in the area.
On Tuesday morning a group of people, led by Ibrahim, opened fire on Shahjahan and Arshed when they were opening a shop at Sikdarerkandi village, he said.
Later, locals rushed the victims to the Upazila health complex when on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Residential medical officer of Upazila health complex, Mahbubur Rahman said the duo was brought dead to the hospital around 7:00am. The victims had several bullet marks in their body, he added.
