Chhatra Dal activist found dead after missing in Comilla

A father of a local Chhatra Dal activist said a team of police picked his son up from his house in Chauddagram of Comilla on Sunday and that police recovered his body at Daudkandi on Monday noon.
The victim was Md Sohel Mia, 27, son of Babul Mia, a resident of Jagmohan of Chauddagram upazila.
The father said some 10 to 12 plain-clothes policemen picked Sohel up from his house around midnight on Sunday.
After that, he could not be traced, Babul Mia said.
On the other hand, Daudkandi highway police sub-inspector Nurullah said being informed of a road accident, police recovered a body from a highway location.
‘We sent the body to Comilla Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy,’ he added.
Chauddagram police officer-in-charge, Uttam Kumar Chakrabarty, said Sohel had a dozen of cases including the Comilla bus arson case against him with various police station. New Age, however, could not verify the police claim.
Sohel’s father denied the allegation, saying, ‘He (Sohel) had no cases filed against him.’
