Population Problem in Bangladesh
Naturally population of a country is an asset. It becomes a problem when the country cannot afford to give people the basic necessaries of life. It is a small country of 1, 47,570 square kilometer. The current population of Bangladesh about 170 million and exceed 200 million within 2020. Every year more than two million people are being added to our population. The population of Bangladesh is increasing at an alarming rate. The present growth of population in Bangladesh is 22(per thousand). Population problem is the burning question of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated Countries in the world. About 1080-1150 people live in one square kilometer. The main cause of the increase of population is the ignorance and prejudices of the people. A large number of people of Bangladesh are illiterate. They can’t realize the gravity of the problem of over-population and do nothing to stop its increase. Moreover, they do not know very little about family planning nor do they cure for planed families.
The population of the country is increasing day by day. The area of Bangladesh is too small to support her vast population. As a result it creates food problem, communication problem, educational problem, unemployment problem, shelter problem, health problem, medical problem, environmental problem and poverty. Unemployment problem is very acute in Bangladesh. There are thousands of candidates, for one single vacant post. There are Crowds in everywhere in buses, trains, market, schools and colleges. If our population increases at present rate, people shall find no place to live in.
We have many ways to solve this fundamental problems The people of Bangladesh are still superstitious. Only a few percentages is educated. As a result, people do not understand the gravity of the problem. Therefore, to curb this population, wide publicity of the danger of over-population must be given first priority. Mass education is a powerful weapon to overcome the problem. The rapid birth rate can be effectively checked through family planning. Early marriage should be stopped strictly. Each couple must not have more than two children. So, the family planning workers visit every house and convince people of the usefulness of family planning. Have to aware the people. To avoid food problem, it is high time to literate our farmers for developing our agricultural sector.
Economical crisis, It is well known to all that there is huge wealth hidden under the ground of Bangladesh. If these mineral resources are exploited, the present population will not be a burden on the part of Bangladesh. Lastly avenues of employment should be found out. If the people are busy at work in factories and offices, population growth will be curbed. Government of Bangladesh has to try their best to solve the number one problem. People of Bangladesh have to come forward. Therefore, all the people of Bangladesh and the government should join hands to meet the crisis right at this moment before it is too late.
Problems of Dhaka City for Population
Bangladesh is the one of the densely populated country in the world. Although it is the populated country it has the biggest natural beauty. Dhaka the capital of Bangladesh located in the central area. Dhaka is the most densely city in this country. Many people come to city to earn their livelihood. About 13 million peoples live in this city. For the overpopulation there are so many problems in the city. The most common problems are: Traffic jam, Load-shedding, Environment pollution, Sound pollution, Lacks of pure water, Air pollution, Housing problem etc.
Traffic jam is one of the major and big problems in this city. There are so many reasons for traffic jam such as, in proportion to our population roads have not increased. There are many unlicensed vehicles which should be brought under control. The divers are not willing to obey the traffic rules. The number of traffic police is not sufficient and the scarcity of honest of the traffic police. Roads are not sufficient wider for the vehicles of the city. For this reasons many accident occurs daily and kills many live and valuable time. To remove this problem the government should take proper step. Roads should be wider, one way movement of vehicles should be introduced. Traffic police should be honest and drivers and traffic police should be trained as need. Traffic rules should be straight and the number of traffic police should be increased.
Lacks of pure water
Lacks of pure water is the biggest problem in summer seasons in Dhaka city. In the summer time, the demand of water is more than supply of water. The layer of water in Dhaka city is decreased day by day. The city peoples depends on the ground water is more. WASA supply ground water than purification water. The purification treatment plant is less than demand and also the treatment plant is not so modern.
Load-shedding is another problem in Bangladesh specially in rural areas. Load-shedding occurs when generation of power is less than the demand. But now-a-days the load-shedding is so less than 10 years back. It hampers the production of mill, factories, industries etc. Peoples suffer more for this reason. To recover the gap between demand and production, Bangladesh government taking some effective steps.
As so many people live here, sound pollution, air pollution and sanitation problems are also increased day by day. For so many people so many vehicles in Dhaka city where many vehicles are old and pollute air and sound. For the large number of people sanitation system is not enough. Dhaka is not so big city so that the housing problem also increased day by day. The authority should take proper step to solve these problems.
