Former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Emajudidn Ahmed on Wednesday said most of 22 deals signed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhaka were sealed in favour of India.
“The government has turned into proverbial ‘Hatem Tai’ and is giving all that it has. A total of 22 deals were signed with India during Modi’s visit but most of them were in favour of India. There is no interest in those for us,” he said while addressing a roundtable at National Press Club.
‘Desh Bachao, Manush Bachao Andolon’ organised the programme on the ‘Visit of Indian Prime Minister: Our expectation and achievement’.
Addressing the programme, the pro-BNP intellectual alleged that Bangladesh has been opened for India with the signing of the agreements.
“The government should ponder if we will continue to have the authority to keep our legs here after opening our doors to satisfy someone else,” he added.
