Morshed Alam Parvez (20), a youth associated with Chhatra Dal politics, was killed after criminals fired upon him at Tinteri area, Shonapur Union, Shonaimuri upazila of Noakhali.
This incident happened on Thursday night, the 15th of January, 2015, at about 11 pm.
The deceased Parvez is son of Alamgir Hossain, who is resident of Kobiraj Bari of Hasanpur village from Shonapur Union. Parvez was a student of class 10 at the locally situated Amishpara College.
According to local sources, Parvez was returning home from Shonapur Bazar riding upon a motorcycle, when his vehicle was obstructed by ropes set up to thwart his progress. After obstruction, he was attacked by a violent gang believed to be led by ruling party youth group Juboleague cadre Zakir Hossain, who fired several rounds upon Parvez leaving him dead. Juboleague terrorist Zakir Hossain is also known to be a member of the notorious Zeesan Bahini, the most infamous gang in Lakhsmipur.
After being informed, police recovered the bullet riddled body of Parvez from a field nearby where the shooting took place.
Shonaimuri upazila Jubo Dal President Joshim Uddin, while speaking to the media, said that Morshed Alam Parvez was an active member of the union chapter of the Chhatra Dal. He reiterated that Parvez had only being killed due to his political identity.
Shonaimuri police station OC Ashraful Islam, while confirming the incident, said that the body of deceased had been sent to Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy purposes. He said that there were marks of bullet injuries below the stomach and on the head of the victim.
Police were investigating the case, he said, although no case had been lodged in this regard.
