Staff Reporter :China has reaffirmed its earlier stance that `political stability’ is needed for the development of Bangladesh.The visiting delegation of Communist Party of China (CPC) reaffirmed this at a meeting with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan residence on Monday afternoon, said BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moeen Khan. Vice-Minister of the International Department of the CPC’s central committee Guo Yezhou led the seven-member delegation. The Chinese delegation, however, did not talk to media after meeting with the BNP chief.Alongside Moeen Khan, BNP’s another standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbuur Rahman and Chairperson’s adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed were present during the meeting. Moeen Khan said China still has the same stand on democracy and political stability in Bangladesh as it had earlier. “We talked about several bilateral issues in the meeting,” he added.
