At Pogose activists assaulted polling officers as they tried to obstruct the ill moves.
Presiding Officer Moksed Ali has decided to stop casting of votes in such situation.
Supporters and activists of different councilor candidates vandalised ballot boxes and shredded ballot papers at Suritola Primary School center of Dhaka South City Corporation elections at around 9:00am, one hour after the polls began.
They also attacked and vandalised the ballot boxes after finding that many of their votes had already been cast by others.
Presiding officer suspended polling at all booths in the centre and law enforcers were trying to control the situation as the voters were demonstrating outside the centre.
Voters alleged that they could not cast their votes as their votes had been cast by others before they entered the centre.
