Senior photo journalist of the Daily Ittefaq, a national Bangla daily was hacked to death at his residence in the capital’s Rampur area. Deceased Aftab Ahmed, senior photo journalist of the daily Bengali who was awarded Ekushey Padok for his outstanding journalism.   Police on Wednesday early hour recovered the dead body from the deceased’s residence at Rampura-Wapda road in hand-legs tied with rope.   Officer in Charge of the Rampura Police Station Nasim Ahmed confirmed the matter. He said on information from the deceased’s son in law around 9 am police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body.   In 1962 Aftab Ahmed joined in the Daily Ittefaq as photo journalist. He was born at Gangachara in Rangpur district.   He identified himself in both national and internationally through capturing the photography of ‘Bashonti’ at Kurigram during the famine in 1974. Besides that he has captured much rare photography during his working life.
