The World Bank has published the final report of the external panel of experts on the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project corruption allegation on June 18.
In the executive summary it said, after receiving information from the World Bank, the Bangladessh Anti-Corporation COmmission (ACC) confirmed there was sufficient evidence to lauch a formal investigation into allegation of criminal conspiracy in relation to selection of the Construction Supervision Consultant for the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project.
The report said, “The Panel maintains that there were no legal reasons to exclude the name of the former Minister of Communications from the initial list of persons under investigation.”
The expert panel also opined that the investigation made by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) was not complete and transparent.
