The polling agents of BNP-backed mayoral candidate Mirza Abbas have been allegedly barred from entering some centres of Shahjahanpur and Khilgaon areas in the capital.
However, the police officials concerned denied the allegation.
In a query about the figure of vote casting, Presiding Officer Nuruddin Sarwar of Mirza Abbas Women College polling centre refused to say anything in this regard.
Our correspondent visited Abu Dhar Gifari College and Saheed Faruk High School polling stations, and did not find any of the BNP-blessed mayoral candidate’s agents.
There are also reports of journalists with cameras being barred from entering the centres.
