BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Reaz Rahman suffered serious bullet wounds in a gun attack in the city’s Gulshan area on Tuesday night.
Party sources said a gang of three criminals in a motorcycle swooped on Reaz Rahman, also former State Minister for Foreign Affairs, near Westin Hotel at Gulshan-2 around 8pm.
The attackers sprayed the BNP leader with four bullets, said BNP media wing member Shamsuddin Didar.
They also torched his private car parked there, Diadar said, adding that the BNP leader was admitted to nearby United Hospital.
Reaz Rahman came under the attack while returning after meeting BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at her office, said Didar. “He was going to board his private car parked near the Westin Hotel.”
