Khaleda on electioneering after a day’s pause

After a day’s pause, Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday again began electioneering for the party-backed candidates in the two Dhaka city mayoral race. Khaleda came out of her house in Gulshan at around 4:40pm and headed towards Baridhara Natun Bazar, reports New Age correspondent from the spot. Khaleda skipped campaign on Thursday as repairing to her SUV, damaged in series of attacks by ruling party men, was underway. Awami League and its front organisations especially Bangladesh Chhatra League men pelted brickbats, stones to the BNP chief’s motorcade on April 20, 21 and 22 in the capital while she was electioneering in favour of her party backed mayoral candidates Tabith Awal and Mirza Abbas for Dhaka North and South city corporations.
