Opposition BNP on Saturday night alleged that party chairperson Khaleda Zia has been confined to her Gulshan residence after withdrawing her police protocol.
In a statement, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, said, “We’ve came to know that the opposition leader has been confined to her residence by deploying law enforcers around it.”
He also alleged that the government has also illegally and unlawfully withdrawn the police personnel engaged in ensuring the opposition leader’s security.
Strongly condemning it, the BNP spokesman demanded the government ensure the overall security of the opposition leader and her smooth movement.
Fakhrul claimed that the opposition leader is being barred from going to her Gulshan office.
