Kamaruzzaman’s grave crowded by his villagers


After the withdrawal of additional police patrol, people from nearby villages gathered and crowded at Jamaat leader Kamaruzzaman grave, who was executed for crime against humanity of 1971 and buried at Kumari Bazitkhali village, Sherpur.
News informants said many of them were very emotional. But activities of local Jamaat and Shibir wasn’t visible and neither had they given any reaction.
Mr. Kamaruzzaman’s dead body, was taken to his village home after the execution of the death sentence on Saturday night and he was buried today Sunday dawn in presence of strong police guard and his relatives and neighbors.
When the ambulance carrying MD. Kamaruzzaman reached Kumari Bazitkhali village of Sadar sub district, Sherpur, at that moment more than hundreds of polices, RAB, BGB. and armed police members were surrounding his house. Nobody was allowed to go near the place.
Only around 50 people could participated the namaj-e-janazah of which most of them were Mr. Kamaruzzaman’s relatives, rest were neighbors. Midst this situation he was buried around 5:15 a.m. in the morning.
After 7:00 a.m. in the morning when police loosened the regulation, journalist and local people were allowed for entrance. And at that moment local journalist Abdur Rahim was present at the incident place.
Later Abdur Rahim told BBC, many people present at the place of incident were sobbing. Mainly they were Mr. Kamaruzzaman’s relatives, neighbors and curious public.

No organizational activities of Jamaat and Shibir were seen at this village or Sherpur, and locally no reaction was given from them, mentioned journalist Abdur Rahim.
But Jamaat-e-Islami’s website informed, today they will observe dua program throughout the country and tomorrow strike will be carried out. News and photo of funeral in absentia that was held within the country and abroad on the death of Mohammad Kamaruzzaman is published in different Jamaat and Shibir’s website.
But the violent reaction that was shown in Bangladesh after the execution of another Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah at the end of 2013 isn’t demonstrated this time from anywhere of the country till the preparation of this report.
Deputy Home Minister Asaduzzaman said, they had the intelligence report which didn’t forecast any violence.
It could be mentioned here that on Saturday night around 10:30 death sentence of Jamaat-e- Islami’s assistant secretary general Mohammad Kamaruzzaman was executed for crime against humanity committed during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.
And after few hours his dead body was send under tight security from Dhaka Central Jail towards Sherpur to hand over to his family members.
