Juboleague attack motorcade of Awami League MP Nizam Hazari with petrol bombs at Feni; arrested Juboleague man later released by police

Juboleague cadres attacked the motorcade of Nizam Hazari, the Awami League member of Parliament from Feni -2 at Devipur of Dhaka- Chittagong highway.

The incident took place after 10 o’clock on the night of Tuesday, the 24th of March.

Petrol bombs were hurled towards the motorcade of Hazari at Devipur in Feni while he was on his way to Dhaka. However, the bomb missed its target and hit a truck instead, which was instantly set ablaze. At this time, the members of the police escorting the MP’s motorcade rushed in to bring the fire in the torched truck under control. Police also arrested a JuboLeague leader, named Prince, along with two others at the scene of the incident and brought them to the police station.

Later it was alleged that police, after a meeting with Shoshordi Awami League Secretary General Safiq Patwary at night, released Juboleague leader Prince in exchange for 4 lakh taka. Prince is the son of Hanif member of Chocna village of Shoshordi union.
