Muhammad Kamaruzzaman executed unlawfully; Acting Ameer protests vehemently; declares nationwide strike on Monday
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 11th April, 2015 protesting and condemning the pre-planned murder of the senior Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, renowned journalist, intellectual, columnist, Islamic thinker and popular leader Muhammad Kamaruzzaman and declaring the following programs.
“The government has killed the senior Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, renowned journalist, intellectual, columnist, Islamic thinker and popular leader Muhammad Kamaruzzaman in a pre-planned way after 10pm of 11th April. Earlier, the government had filed some baseless, fictitious and concocted charges against this leader just to attain their ill political interest. To prove the false case, ruling party men were produced as the prosecution witness. The contradictory and conflicting statements of the witnesses revealed the government’s malign conspiracy of the government before the people about murdering this talented politician.
Muhammad Kamaruzzaman has been murdered today in the name of execution in connection with the Shohagpur mass killing. But the fact is, he was no way involved with the incident. Martyr Kamaruzzaman repeatedly said that he had never gone to Shohagpur ever in his lifetime. Even the general residents of Shohagpur cannot confirm that he had ever been to that place. The government had lodged false case against him and arranged a farcical trial. Martyr Kamaruzzaman informed the countrymen through his family members that Almighty Allah will try the personnel who have tried and prosecuted him unlawfully in this maternal world.
The conspiracy which the government has plotted to recognize a student of higher secondary level as criminal and their subsequent effort to murder him will be considered as a stigmatized and black part of the national history. We are vehemently and sincerely condemning the heinous conspiracy of the government and this inhuman and brutal murder of an innocent man.
The blood and sacrifice of martyr Kamaruzzaman will be treated as the source of inspiration for the leaders and activists of the Islamic movement. His blood will take the Islamic movement to the highest pick of success.
The history will never forgive those quarters that have killed him intentionally and assisted in this malign conspiracy. The government will have to face the questions in the people’s court one day for this injustice and preplanned murder. I am declaring the following programs protesting against the intentional and unjust murder of Muhammad Kamaruzzaman.
1. Nationwide special prayer program on 12th April, Sunday for the acceptance of martyrdom of Muhammad Kamaruzzaman
2. Countrywide strike on 13th April Sunday.
I am urging all the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its all wing organizations and seeking the assistance of the countrymen to make the declared program successful.”
