Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Dhaka University vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique and 23 other senior journalists, professors and cultural activists received death threat from an Islamist outfit on Tuesday. Militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team-13 issued the threat in a letter sent to Dhaka University vice-chancellor office around 12:30pm, said the university acting proctor Amzad Ali. The university authority filed a general dairy with Shahbagh police station. Death threat recipients, among others, were- senior journalist Abed Khan, DU professor of history Syed Anwar Husain, writer and professor Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, theatre activist Ramendu Majumdar, Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu, Ekattarer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee executive president Shahriar Kabir, cultural activist Syed Hasan Imam, Liberation War Museum trustee Mofidul Haque, Ganajagaran Mancha activists Imran H Sarker, Kamal Pasha Chowdhury, Mahmudul Haque Munshi, Baishakhi Television head of news Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Bhorer Kagoj editor Shyamal Dutta, senior journalist Shahin Reja Nur, television anchors Nabanita Chowdhury and Anjan Roy, Chhatra League general secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam, bloggers Kaniz Aklim Sultana and FM Shahin, private university teacher Arafat Rahman.
