Prime minister’s political adviser HT Imam on Monday termed the arsonists as ‘demons’ and urged the people to ‘kill’ and ‘annihilate’ them for the greater interest of protecting Bangladesh and its sovereignty.
‘Those who are burning people to death are demons. I call upon you all to join hands together to kill and annihilate the demons. If we can annihilate them, we could protect Bangladesh and uphold the continuation of its development,’ he said.
Imam came up with the remarks at the inaugural function of National Flag Festival-2015 at historic Suhrawardy Udyan in presence of Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque and Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Asaduzzaman Mian.
He said that the defeated force of 1971 liberation war had emerged again having their links with international militant groups including Islamic State, Al- Qaeda and Boko Haram. The prime minister’s political adviser urged the people to resist the defeated force and their arsonists in a way so that their emergence would never happen in Bangladesh. Indicating BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman, he said that both the mother and son had joined their hands with the international militant organisation and the defeated force to destroy the achievements of Bangladesh.
Imam said most of the rich men and industrials of Bangladesh were now the collaborators of defeated force as they looted the state properties after the killing of country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975. IGP AKM Shahidul Haque said that the people those who did not want Bangladesh’s independence continued to hatch conspiracy against Bangladesh and tried to unleash terrors across in the country.
He claimed that the police along with the people could become successful in containing the violence.
