Nobel Laureate and founder of Grameen Bank Dr Muhammad Yunus said that Bangladesh will get the GSP preference back.
Dr Yunus was addressing Social Business Youth Convention-2013 at capital’s Daffodil International University auditorium on Saturday.
‘If Bangladesh deals with the issued that led the cancellation, the GSP preference will be back’, Dr Yunus said.
Referring to the causes behind the cancellation Dr Yunus said, ‘they were unhappy with labor rights issues. We have to ensure them.’
‘The industry has grown up to be a strong one due to the participation of marginal people from the villages’, he added.
Earlier, US President Barack Obama issued a proclamation that officially canceled GSP preference for Bangladesh in US Market.
