Govt let loose secret killers, alleges BNP

Dhaka, BdChronicle:

BNP on Wednesday alleged that the current ‘unrepresentative’ regime has let loose secret killers at different parts of the country in a bid to annihilate opposition leaders and activists.

In a statement, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also said, “The government which got five percent votes has unleashed a bloodletting programme across the country in an effort to continue its illegal and one-party rule by annihilating all the opposition parties and those who hold different opinions.”

In the face of tremendous pressure of people’s movement, he alleged, the government has formed committees across the country with secret and dangerous forces to give its last poisonous bite.

“Reaz Rahman, a professional diplomat, BNP chairperson’s adviser and former state minister for foreign affairs, has become a victim of such brutal forces,” the BNP leader alleged.

Meanwhile, the Awami League-led 14-party grand alliance on Tuesday reportedly asked its grassroots leaders and activists to form immediately “action committees” across the country, and help police thwart “the opposition’s anti-people movement.

Earlier on Monday, AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh directed her party men to identify bomb attackers, conspirators and those involved in violence, and hand them over to police.

Rizvi said the second-phase of one-party Baksal rule has reached its extreme level of misrule.

Mentioning that it is the last part of darkness of one-party Baksal’s misrule, the BNP said the common people and 20-party alliance men are taking part in the current strong movement braving deaths to remove the darkness.

He warned that those oppressing the demonstrating people in a bid to save this ‘illegal government’ which has a support of five percent people’ will not be spared as people will surely try them one day.
