EU diplomats skip Victory Day programme


In an unprecedented move, ambassadors and high commissioners of the European Union countries today skipped the Victory Day programme organised to mark the 42rd anniversary of the country’s independence.

EU ambassador in Dhaka William Hanna in a note verbal sent to the foreign ministry late yesterday informed that the EU envoys in Dhaka would not be able to attend the Victory Day programme due to a meeting, according to sources at foreign ministry.

The eight envoys of the EU countries said they would remain busy in a coordination meeting on Bangladesh situation.
