Dhaka Division Chattra league leader arrested with petrol bombs

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two siblings with four petrol bombs and five cocktails from city’s Kadamtali area early Sunday.

The detainees are Chattra league Dhaka division organizational Secretary Nur Hossain and his elder brother Kamal.

Maksudul Alam, assistant director of RAB Legal and Media Wing, confirmed the matter to media.

Speaking to the media, he informed that, acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force, conducted drive in the area around 12:30am and nabbed the duo from a CNG-run auto-rickshaw garage.

Jalal Mir, Officer-in-Charge of South Keraniganj Thana, told the media that in primary interrogation, the detainees confessed that they gathered the petrol bombs-cocktails to create sabotage.

ASP Sajjad Hossain, South Keraniganj RAB-10 Camp commander, further informed the media that according to information from local sources, Nur Hossain was involved in politics of the Chattra League, claiming to be one of the 8 organizational secretaries of Dhaka division while his elder brother Kamal was involved in a side organization of the BNP

Nur and Kamal have been produced before the court showing arrested in a case filed under Explosives Act, the OC added.
