Detained five BNP leaders under 8-days police remand

A Dhaka Court on Thursday has granted 8 days police remand against the five deatined senior leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in separate two cases.   Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rezaul Karim granted the police remand following the hearing on bail plea and remand prayer.   On Saturday Police sought 20 days remand against the arrested leaders.   Earlier the senior BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Rafiqul Islam Miah, MK Anwar, Abdul Awal Mintoo and Shimul Biswas were sent to jail in the two cases including attacking on policemen and arson attack in the capital.   Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested them from capital’s Pan Pacific Hotel Sonargaon premises and Gulshan area.
