Chhatraleague cadres themselves carried out an arson attack on the residence of a fellow Chhatraleague leader. The incident happened at Jessore where Chhatraleague cadres set fire to the household of Hafizur Rahman, Chhatraleague finance affairs secretary of Jessore district.
The haystack of the household and a battery operated ‘easy bike’ was left burnt as a result of the arson attack.
The attack occurred at Karbala-Dhopapara area of Jessore city at 4 am early on Friday.
Hafizur Rahman complained that a team of 15-20 armed cadres, led by district Chhatraleague co-President Hafiz Uddin, who lived in the same area as him, attacked his residence early on Friday night. At this time, they set fire to the haystack of the household and a battery operated ‘easy bike’. Owing to the fact that he fastened the door to prevent them from coming inside, his opponents fired several rounds of bullets and left the place.
