New Age Online A special judges’ court in Dhaka on Wednesday issued arrest warrant for Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia and two others in 2 graft cases. The makeshift court housed in an Alia Madrasah complex in the old part of Dhaka issued the arrest warrant this morning. The 2 others for whom arrest warrants have also been issued, are, Kazi Salimul Huq Kamal and Sharfuddin Ahmed. Anti-Corruption Commission deputy director Harun-or-Rashid appeared before the court in a bid to give his deposition in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
On March 19, Bashudev Roy, the previous judge of the court, framed charges against Khaleda and eight others in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases, reportedly without reading out the charges.
