Arif, victim of “crossfire”, became a father two hours after his death

”They did not let my son see the face of his newborn. While Arif’s wife was in labor pain, he went out to get his fufu (aunt). Before he could reach there, his fufu already arrived at our home. So I then called Arif to come back home. However, on his way back police stopped him at Nunachara area and then they killed him by gun shot,” Arif’s mother was heard saying this while crying out loudly.

Arif was killed in an alleged gun-fight with police. Two hours after his death, his son was born.

They are Sohel, Rubel Mia, Nurul Hadi and Parvez. According to sources, they were also being hospitalized in Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Contrary to police claims of death in a gunfight, family members have strongly stated that they believed that Arif was killed in a pre-planned manner.
