The Cyber Crime Tribunal in Dhaka on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of the Human Rights organization ‘Odhikar’ secretary Adilur Rahman Khan.
Justice KM Shamsul Alam passed the order in response to a bail plea hearing on Wednesday noon. The tribunal also fixed October 21 the next date for appearing the case details.
The court has ordered to place reports regarding arrest warrant against ‘Odhikar’ director ASM Nasir Uddin Elan and secretary Adilur in the court.
At around 11.30 am Adilur’s lawyer Assaduzzaman took part in the hearing while Public Prosecutor Kabir Hossain headed for State.
Earlier on September 19 Adilur pleaded for bail. But due to absence of State’s lawyer the court adjourned though high officials from European Union, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Nepal embassy were present.
On his way back home from relatives house accompanied by his wife and children, Adilur was picked up by DB police at a close proximity to his residence in capital’s Gulshan area at 10.20 pm on August 10.
The arrest of Adilur was reported to be coincided with Odhikar’s fact finding report on Motijheel shapla chattar police operation on May 5-6 where activists of Hefazat-e-Islam, the religious organization of Bangladesh were allegedly killed.
